Karen Castano

Karen is a Georgia native from Gwinnett County. She began her nursing career in the Neonatal ICU immediately upon graduating from Georgia State University’s School of Nursing in 2018. Since then, she has worked at several hospitals in both Georgia and Florida but always as a Neonatal ICU RN. Even before becoming a nurse, Karen had always had a passion for working with young children and was a preschool teacher for several years while in school. Karen currently works part-time in the NICU at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta and when she is not at work, she enjoys spending time with her family and creating memories with her children. Since having kids of her own, Karen recognizes the great need of a proper ‘village’ when learning to care for a new life while adapting to the new role of being a parent. It is a delicate time that requires support, and she looks forward to being a helping hand during this beautiful transition.
