My name is Latonya Sumlin. I completed my BSN at the University of Alabama at Birmingham in 1995. After completing my degree, I relocated to Tennessee where I worked on the Neurology and Pediatric Surgical Units at Le bonheur Children’s Hospital. While employed at Le bonheur Children’s hospital, I provided nursing care to children diagnosed with seizure disorders, brain tumors, cerebral palsy, epilepsy, and sensory processing disorders. While living in Tennessee I married my husband who served as a Captain in the US Airforce. We both relocated to Wisconsin where I worked as a public health nurse. As a public health nurse, I provided prenatal care and educational l resources to new moms about breastfeeding, bottle feeding, and gestational diabetes. Currently I am living in Alabama with my husband and daughter while pursuing my master’s degree.
I have thoroughly enjoyed my career working with infants and children. I look forward to helping new mom’s care for their precious newborn.
