Latonya Sumlin, RN, BSN
LaTonya completed her BSN at the University of Alabama at Birmingham in 1995. After completing her degree, she relocated to Tennessee where she worked on the Neurology and Pediatric Surgical Units at Le Bonheur Children’s Hospital. While employed at Le Bonheur Children’s Hospital, LaTonya provided nursing care to children diagnosed with seizure disorders, brain tumors, cerebral palsy, epilepsy, and sensory processing disorders.
While living in Tennessee, LaTonya married her husband, who served as a Captain in the US Air Force. They both relocated to Wisconsin where she worked as a public health nurse. As a public health nurse, she provided prenatal care and educational resources to new moms about breastfeeding, bottle feeding, and gestational diabetes. Currently, LaTonya lives in Alabama with her husband and daughter while pursuing her master’s degree. She has thoroughly enjoyed her career working with infants and children and looks forward to helping new moms care for their precious newborn!
