Julianna (Julie) is a second-career nurse, obtaining her nursing degree from UNF in 2013 after spending 20+ years as a writer/editor. She works part-time at Wolfson Children’s Hospital in the neurosciences/GI/trauma unit, providing compassionate care to infants, children and teens. She joined Nurse and Nurture in 2018 to offer parents of newborns the chance to relax and get some much-needed rest, allowing them to fully enjoy their exciting role as new parents. Julie primarily accepts daytime shifts for parents interested in running errands, getting some work done, or just taking some “me” time. Julie is married to her high school sweetheart Eric, also a second-career nurse at Mayo Clinic. They have two adult children, Brooke, an artist, and Eli, a future nurse. When she’s not working, Julie enjoys sewing and being crafty, baking, kayaking, raising ducks, traveling, and wrangling alligators (well, okay, just once). She and Eric are currently living in a tiny home on a marsh-front property in North Jacksonville while they prepare to build an elevated timber-frame house surrounded by nature preserves.
