Doris Carey, RN, BSN
Doris’s career as a RN has spanned 40 years. For 38 of those years she has had the privilege of caring for babies and their families in the NICU and as a Charge Nurse in the Newborn Nursery. She treasures the compliment she often gets from her parents of, “Doris, when you are taking care of my baby I sleep soundly.” She has always advocated for family centered and baby friendly care and is happy to assist with breastfeeding. She enjoys teaching baby care and her mission is that the parents of every baby in her care feel comfortable in hers and in their own competence. Doris graduated with a BSN from Murray State University in Murray, Kentucky. She’s lived and worked in her home state of Florida as well as in California and Hawaii. Since retiring from hospital nursing and moving to Atlanta she now has time to enjoy her passions of writing and acting. It has been a blessing to care for thousands of babies over the years and it is a blessing to care for yours!
